Right now CERA researchers are:

• Trialing new treatments for age-related macular degeneration
• Helping to develop Australia's first bionic eye
• Conducting Australia's first large scale study into the barriers of optimal diabetes care
• Developing new treatments and improving the diagnosis of glaucoma
• Identifying the risk of stroke, heart disease and diabetes using retinal imaging technology
• Developing stem-cell technology to reconstruct the eye's surface after damage.
