A record crowd of 200 people at the Sir Ian Potter Auditorium in Melbourne on Wednesday night heard from Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA) Managing Director and University of Melbourne Ringland Professor of Ophthalmology, Professor Jonathan Crowston.
Professor Crowston spoke on the topic: Future challenges for managing glaucoma.
Professor Crowston took the audience on a journey through the glaucoma research being done by his team at CERA as well as the impact of the eye disease on an aging population worldwide.
The Victorian Health Minister, the Honourable David Davis MP, was in attendance to introduce Professor Crowston and launch the annual event which honours the memory and contribution of renowned Australian ophthalmologist and inaugural Ringland Professor of Ophthalmology, Professor Gerard Crock AO.
Several members of the Crock family were in attendance including Professor Crock’s wife, Jacqueline Crock, and brother, Harry Crock AO.
