2015 Diabetic Retinopathy Information ForumJuly 16, 2015
CERA helped raise awareness during National Diabetes week (12-18 July) by hosting a Diabetic Retinopathy Community Information Forum. It was a successful event as a capacity crowd attended the lunch time session to hear the latest developments in DR research and treatment from host Dr Peter van Wijngaarden and guest speakers – Dr Eva Fenwick, Dr Sukhi Sandhu and Prof Mingguang He.
Diabetic eye disease (diabetic retinopathy) is a common complication of diabetes and one of the leading causes of avoidable vision loss. Regular screening and timely treatment of diabetic retinopathy can prevent almost all cases of vision loss.
