Professor Tien Wong
MBBS, MPH, FRCSE, PhD, FRANZCOVisiting Professor Professor Tien Wong, a retinal specialist, leads epidemiology research into retinal vascular diseases. A Singapore trained ophthalmologist, Professor Wong attained his PhD at Johns Hopkins University, USA and completed his epidemiology research fellowship at the University's Wilmer Eye Institute, followed closely by an American Diabetes Association fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. Research Interests Professor Wong leads research at CERA and the Singapore Eye Research Institute into the correlation between environmental, systemic and genetic factors and retinal vascular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. Professor Wong's particular research focus is the use of retinal vascular signs as predictors of cardiovascular disease.
