Resources for Graduate Research StudentsCERA takes very seriously the responsibility of providing adequate facilities and resources for graduate research students. FacilitiesCERA provides outstanding facilities and infrastructure to support research students, including database manager, biostatistician, and excellent IT resources. All students have access to a computer and will be allocated desk and/or laboratory space as appropriate. Students also benefit from the diverse range of professional training and development opportunities available through the University’s Melbourne School of Graduate Research. SupportOur research supervisors have formal supervisor training at least every five years and require this accreditation to supervise graduate research students. Two supervisors are assigned to each student. The Graduate Committee is involved in reviewing each CERA student, and each research unit values graduate students equal to staff. All graduate students are encouraged to benefit from the support and advice of the University of Melbourne Postgraduate Association. ScholarshipsAs well as University and external scholarships, eligible CERA students may apply for scholarships specifically established for students of Ophthalmology. Students may also apply for the CERA Travel Award or the Harold Mitchell Travel Fellowship. Journal ClubStudents organise a monthly Journal Club meeting where publications can be discussed and reviewed.
