How to include the Eye Research Australia Foundation in your will
A bequest is a gift which you provide for in your will. It allows you to make a difference beyond your life time.
After providing for your loved ones, would you consider leaving a bequest for the Eye Research Australia Foundation?
Types of gifts
A bequest may be
- a specific sum of money
- a percentage of your estate
- a particular asset such as property, shares,
- a work of art, or a life insurance policy
- the residual of your estate after obligations have been met and distributions to other beneficiaries have been made.
You may wish to consult your solicitor about the preparation of a will or amendment of an existing will to give effect to your wishes.
Suggested wording for a Bequest
The following form of words may be adapted depending on the type of bequest you wish to make:
I give to the Eye Research Australia Foundation free of all duties [insert amount / percentage/ residual of my estate] and I declare that the receipt of its Treasurer or other proper officer shall be full and sufficient discharge to my Executors.
Notification
We welcome the opportunity to thank benefactors during their life time and to recognise your generous intention to support eye research through a bequest. We therefore appreciate notification of bequest intentions.
Notification that you have included the Eye Research Australia Foundation in your will does not imply any binding commitment. You are free to change your will at any time and are under no obligation to proceed.
Privacy and confidentiality
We respect your wish for privacy. All bequest inquiries, discussions and notifications are handled in the strictest confidence. Some benefactors prefer to keep bequest arrangements private and do not disclose their intentions during their life time. If you have included the Eye Research Australia Foundation in your will without letting us know, please accept our most sincere thanks. Your support is greatly valued. The Eye Research Australia Foundation and the Centre for Eye Research Australia comply with the requirements of Commonwealth and State privacy laws.
