Bequest morning teaSeptember 02, 2014
Our bequest morning tea was held on Tuesday 2 September, with presentations from Dr Lyndell Lim and Karl Brown.
Dr Lim, an ophthalmologist and Head of our Clinical Trials Unit, spoke about investigating new and novel treatments for eye diseases, with particular emphasis on some of her own clinical studies in diabetic retinopathy and uveitis.
Karl Brown from our Corneal Research Unit presented growing commonly damaged layers of the cornea in the laboratory from a patient’s cells, and transplanting the ‘new’ cornea back into the patient.
Bequest morning teas are open to supporters who are considering leaving a gift in their Will to the Centre for Eye Research Australia, or who have already taken the profound step and done so.
The next morning tea will be held in the first quarter of 2015.
