Dr Thanh Nguyen is an eye specialist and surgeon. He has a strong interest in diseases of the retina, in particular diabetic retinopathy.

Dr Thanh Nguyen is a Senior Research Fellow at CERA’s Clinical Trials Research Centre and an ophthalmology consultant at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Monash Health.
Following his undergraduate studies, Dr Nguyen received his PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2009. He went on to become a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in 2015.

- 2015 – Current: Retinal Imaging Grading Adjudicator
- Academic supervision: co-supervisor PhD student: “Developing Primary Care Network for Diabetic Screening Program in Bangaldesh”. Confirmation successful March 2020.
