Vision Expo 2024 – Stand 5
Visual neuroscience research
About our research
Dr Anna Wang’s research is interested in the retinal ganglion cells that carry visual information from the eye to the brain. She’s discovered a completely new class of these cells and is investigating how they lose function in blinding diseases such as glaucoma. If we can understand what leads to their death, we can work to prevent it and preserve vision.
What you’ll see
Learn more about how identifying new retinal ganglion cells, understanding how they work and what damages their function is a critical first step in developing new methods of diagnosing glaucoma earlier and formulating new treatments.
